How good is this cake?

My bf’s fren dropped this delicious chocolate cake at my house the other day and it’s totally to die for

Heat it up for a few seconds and serve it with some french vanilla ice-cream and TA-DAAAAAA

(kinda over did it in the microwave)

The WAIFT Fashion Parade

I havent blogged in such a long time, sorry abt the wait.

Last nite me and the girls (Karen, Louisa and Jillian), headed out to the Astral Ballroom at Burswood to watch the Swan TAFE fashion parade. We all met up at Emporium before heading to the show, to have dinner and as were having our dinner, some crazy old bitch starts goin loopy and swearing at us. At first we thought she was tokin to someone on the phone but then realised that she was actually tokin to herself, abt us (she was being a racist bitch).

So we ended up movin to another table to laugh abt her, after the dinner we headed to ladies before we headed to the ballroom. Here are some of the pics that we took, (me playing with timer on the camera)

hmmm...what did i think of the place?

it did not turn out what i would thought it would be, i thought the place was meant to be classy and not so run down looking. Lucky I was having too much fun to be so focused abt the place.

- (But be warned the toilets are the worst toilets out of all the clubs i've been too)

considering what happened with my lunch yesterday

i played it safe and brought my own lunch in today, a good, home-cooked meal (rice and spinach)

definitely no spiders in there

But mind you, while i was eating my lunch, i couldnt help but feel sick from time to time
(I'm scarred for lunch breaks)

i emailed my frens abt the surprise salad and the best reply that i got back, was from jason

"could be worse.. if it was dead..
it could possibly been from the food :P"

ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!

OMG, can you believe what i found in my lunch today.

i just brought it from 'Pure and Natural', i was sitting at my desk, opened it (thinkin to myself "what a good lunch i have") took one bite and the next thing i know it, this huge spider starts to crawl out of it. I was total freaking out, i covered it quickly and at the same I was trying to find somewhere to spit the food out of my mouth and yelling at my friend to look at my salad.

She replies back "Its a spider and its still moving, take it back, take it back!!!". After i try to calm myself down, i rushed back to the place and demanded to see the manager. when i saw the manager, i handed her the container and i didnt even need to explain. i got an apology, my money back, and a free lunch and drink (I got a pie, theree is no way that i'm goin to have a salad again)

But never again will i order anything from Pure and Natural

MORAL OF THIS STORY

Make this a warning - look and poke your food before you eat, who knows what you might find crawling in it

what did i buy yesterday (13/11/08)

Checkout the stuff that i got yesterday - i was naughty and i think i over did it

1. WAIFT Fashion Parade tickets x 4 (one for me, karen, jillian and louisa)





2. I couldnt help myself I just had to buy all this fabric from the Fabric shop at Bentley TAFE when i went to buy the tickets. I'm planning to use the fabric to make bags and clutches, as part of the production line that me and karen are designing for our small business. (I'll post details of how i'll our 1st meeting went)





3. This was a totally an impusive buy - i havent even tried it on. I found this dress @ Temt, carousel ($34.95), i really love the print so i just brought the dress =P. Hopefully it fits nicely (fingers-cross). The photo below doesnt do any justice for the colour of the dress, I'll try to post better pics later.
   
   


4. Lastly, I brought a gold necklace and and braclet from diva, they were having a promotion buy two items for $15. (i didnt have time to take a pic, so i will post later)

i think i would have brought more stuff if VG wasnt so busy last nite, i have at least 8 dresses and tops at VG that i need to try on. I'm goin to need to do more shopping on saturday, i'm just addicted i just cant stop =(

13th November 2008 (Thursday)

Had such a crazy day - this is how my whole day went.

I drove to the city so I could start at the office around 6ish in the morning, had a quick lunch at my desk. Finish working at the office around 2:30 so i could pick the WAIFT (WA Insituite of Fashion and Textiles) Fashion parade tickets from the Bentley TAFE (which closes at 3). Rather then heading home and wait until 6pm to start my next job at Valleygirl (VG), i headed straight to VG instead to help unpack and hang their new stock from 3:30 to 6:00. I managed to get through at least 2 and 1/2 boxes at the backroom and then from 6:00 to 9:30 worked at the front of the store. Thats not too bad in getting 14 hours of work in one day. I was so tired that i slept like a baby, i was so tired that i couldnt wake up at 5 am to do my hour session at the gym. This is the second session that i havent done this week - this means I'm goin to have to do a 1 to 2 hour session on saturday =(

WAIFT Fashion Parade

BTW if your wondering wat the WAIFT fshion parade is? Its a fashion parade that is show casing 3rd year Fashion graduate's final works for the year from the SWAN Bentley TAFE. I just love to check out the new talent that is emerging from our little city and being a former student to the Fashion and IT department from the Bentley TAFE, I'm happy to see how Bentley TAFE has improved in supporting their students in organising a yearly Fashion Parade for 3rd year graduates. If you love fashion as much as i do, then buy a ticket and check out the show, when you go in one year, you'll go every year. I'm dragging three of my GFs to this event Karen, Jillian and Louisa

Merchandising at VG

Yesterday i had to rush from the office to go work @ VG to do the merchandising for the store, i had to create a Luxe Boho wall

'RocknRolla' Review (10th Nov 2008)

Last nite me and the bf had to use up our free movie tickets at hoyts so we decided to go watch 'RocknRolla'. I have always been a fan of Guy Ritchie's movies (eg snatch and lock, stock and two smokin barrels).

Synopsis:

Lenny Cole (Wilkinson) is a bungling London crime boss who calls the shots in London's underworld. We learn all about Lenny from Archie (Mark Strong)--his second in command--who serves as the film's sly narrator. When a wealthy Russian property dealer by the name of Uri (Karel Roden) looks to Lenny for help on a major new deal, Lenny is eager to assist (for a very large fee, of course). Uri agrees to pay, and as a show of faith, he insists that Lenny borrow
his "lucky painting." Uri then asks his accountant, Stella (Thandie Newton), to transfer the money to Lenny, but things quickly go awry when two crooks known as Mumbles (Idris Elba) and One Two (Butler) intercept the money before it reaches him. To make matters worse, the lucky painting has mysteriously been stolen, and the number one suspect is a crack-addicted pop star, Johnny Quid, who is presumed dead. Violent hijinks ensue as Lenny desperately tries to locate the painting, Uri calls in some sadistic thugs to recover his money, and Johnny Quid suddenly resurfaces. Men are battered with golf clubs, fed to crawfish, and attacked with machetes, and a surprise twist ending neatly ties up the whole bloody mess

Although, some critics have criticised the film as being too much like his other movies (being nuthin original). But that is the main reason were fans of Richie, his style of directing, the sense of humour he portrays in his films, is the reason why we keep watching his movies - its addictive. I hope Richie egets the support he needs from his fans to make the sequel

In my opinion, the film is worth watching i give it 4/5

the dilemma is this - i hardly go clubbing or go to fancy places

which means that i would only wear once or twice

(but they are so pretty)

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Maureen, Happy Birthday to You !!!

On Friday night, me, the bf and my bro Jason headed out to the MINQ Bar in Burswood casino to help celebrate my fren Maureen's Bday.

When we got to Burswood, the place was absolutely packed, we had to drive around a bit to get parking (as the bf didnt want to pay for parking) and so we ended up parking next to the Burswood Dome. As we were walking to the casino we were trying to figure out why it was so busy and why there so many rough and scary lookin ppl around the place. As it turned out, Snoop Dog was performing at Burswood that night. (explains everythin)

When we arrive at MINQ, the bf got rejected at the door bcoz he was wearing a non-collar shirt and sneakers. Which is a load of B_LL S_ _T bcoz when me and Jason went into the bar there were at least three other guys wearing the same stuff (WTF). They're just lucky that the bf was happy to stay outside and gamble while we celebrate.

This was my first time headin into the MINQ bar and i must say that I'm actually quite impressed with the atmosphere and the sophisticated and classy decor. I would definitely go back there again (maybe plans a girls night out - so girls let me know when you want to go). Its too bad that the drinks are a bit pricey.

Speaking of drinks, I ordered the Long Island Ice Tea (I was inspired to order this drink bcoz of you Jillian =P ) and it happens to be one of the best Long Islands I've had in a long time (tip my hat to the bar man). As for Jason he ordered the French Martini - nice and fruity definitely a girls drink - which kinda made him disappointed. =P

The birthday girl ordered a chocolate martini and the rest of her frens, who've i've just met ordered a bottle of wine to share between themselves. i spent the night chatting.

Unfortunately, like cinderella we had to head around 12ish bcoz the bf had to work the next day, plus he used up all his gambling money and didnt win

Elsewise, I was happy to hear that Maureen will be sticking around alot more in perth, which is good for me, as i'm running out of frens to hang around with. (So Maureen dont forget we have to catch up again)

Curry Puff Crazy

My mommy loves us so much that she made us fresh homemade curry puffs, early Friday morning so we could take it to work.

She's currently in a curry puff phase so shes been making them for the past few weeks
